Jazz summer school returns to south Wales
A jazz summer school which originally launched in Barry in the 1960s is returning to south Wales.
The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff will stage the course, which moved from Barry to Porthcawl and later the University of Glamorgan. In 2008 the Treforest-based college dropped the summer school, which was then hosted by Trinity College of Music, London. The course, run by Dave Wickins and Buster Birch, features many tutors familiar to participants in the former Glamorgan Jazz Summer School - including Dave Hassell, Pete Churchill, Alison Rayner and Chris Batchelor.
The course runs for one week from Sunday 29 July to Friday 3 August 2012.
