Ian Shaw's single tribute to Humphrey Lyttelton
Welsh jazz vocalist Ian Shaw has teamed up with trumpeter Sue Richardson to record a Humphrey Lyttelton number called Sad Sweet Song as a tribute to the British jazz legend who died earlier this year.
The team at Splashpoint Records are hoping jazz fans will flock in their thousands to download the track, unveiled at the London Jazz Festival.
The aim is to put the song into the singles charts, half a century after Hump had a Top Ten hit himself with Bad Penny Blues.
A percentage of profits from sales of the single will go to the Humphrey Lyttelton Memorial Fund.
Ian will be talking about the track on the Robert Elms show on BBC London next Monday 1 December at around 2.30pm - listen live or later in the week at www.bbc.co.uk/london
