Jazz Connection night off

Just a reminder that there's no Jazz Connection tonight as Radio Cardiff is having an extended Cardiff City phone-in from 7 till 9pm following the Bluebirds' defeat by Blackpool in the Championship play-off final.

Next Monday 31st May there'll be a Jazz Connection Bank Holiday special, with the next live show on Monday 7th June at the usual time of 8pm.

Brecon Jazz line-up unveiled

Hugh Masekela, Kyle Eastwood, Charlie Musselwhite, Neil Cowley, Acker Bilk and Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club with Omara Portuondo are among the attractions of the 2010 Brecon Jazz Festival from August 6 to 8.

The programme also features the best of the current crop of UK jazz talent, including Portico Quartet, Get the Blessing, the Dave Stapleton Quintet and the Kairos Quartet.

The venues this year are Brecon Cathedral, Brecon Market Hall, Christ College and Theatr Brycheiniog.

Jazz at the Hay Festival

There's plenty of jazz on offer at this year's Hay Festival at Hay-on-Wye in Powys from May 27 to June 6.

Dennis Rollins, Erik Truffaz, Ketil Bjornstad and Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club are among the attractions, many presented in association with Brecon Jazz.

Other musical offerings include Christy Moore, Thea Gilmore, Natacha Atlas and Toumani Diabate.
